Scope of the Job:

Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, NA, support with sourcing direct and indirect materials at the appropriate quality level, on time and at the most competitive cost form new program launch through to steady state production.


  • Work within Health & Safety regulations, company quality and environmental systems of work, and all other company policies and procedures
  • Work positively to develop and foster good working relationships with colleagues and contracted personnel in order to maintain a culture of mutual respect and dignity
  • Purchase direct materials in line with operational requirements, action the requirements of the MRP, and rephase deliveries and expedite where necessary.
  • Maintain part and procurement parameters in MRP/ERP, i.e., supplier lead times, strategic safety stocks, and yields. Ensure all purchase orders and amendments are always up to date in the system.
  • Run tender processes for new requirements, negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to ensure the best position for G&H
  • Develop and maintain proactive supplier relationships
  • Inventory management - work with internal and eternal partners to optimize stock and ensure stock is provided in line with product lifecycle and business requirements.
  • Identify and manage cost reduction initiatives
  • Supplier quality - work with suppliers and other departments to ensure robust corrective actions are in place to deal with non-conformity
  • Work with Product/Program team to manage procurement actions in new product introduction
  • Monitor procurement KPIs (OTIF, Quality, MPV) on a regular basis and publish along with action plans to deliver agreed targets
  • build strong internal relationships and work with all areas to address purchasing issues and requirements.
  • Continuous improvement - work with internal and group colleagues to continuously develop and improve procurement and supply chain processes, tool, and ways of working. Implement new tools, processes, and procedures that are identified for group rollout.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Specialist Functional Knowledge:

  • Understanding of quality requirements in aerospace and medical industries
  • Understanding of contracts and contract management
  • Knowledge and experience running MRP systems
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate at all levels
  • Experience in implementing Pull Control or Vendor Managed Inventory processes with suppliers

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be reliable, have the ability to work on own initiative, and as part of a team


  • CIPS certification preferred


  • 2-3 years of purchasing experience
  • Experience in manufacturing environments essential
  • Technical experience preferred
  • Able to be accountable and deliver results
  • A safety-conscious approach to work

  • Well-experienced in building internal and external relationships
