G&H Torquay is a fast-growing business specialising in design and manufacture of passive fibre-optic components, fibre lasers, and fibre optic modules for performance in rugged environments such as under sea and in space. We are currently recruiting for two additional Manufacturing Technicians to support production operators in maintaining high quality standards of work.

Main duties include;

Process, manage and reduce product on hold, ensuring product flows back into production effectively and raising training and process corrective actions when required

Support and facilitate continuous improvements by identifying areas of deficiency, recommending/implementing appropriate changes in training, working practices and processes for the department

• Support the technical issue escalation process from manufacturing, with the appropriate level of on hand shop floor support in each production area
• Provides support to Engineering projects, business projects and the RMA process.
• Supports the training of new and existing processes, raising training and process corrective actions with manufacturing when required

Ideal candidates will have the following;

HNC in Engineering / Scientific / Mathematics based subject would be desirable

3+ years’ experience in a technical production environment

Use of Syspro (or equivalent) and legacy business systems

Understanding of Lean Manufacturing techniques

Awareness of documentation structure

General computer literacy

Understanding of KPI metrics
