Full Time Permanent Position

Monday to Friday day shift plus opportunity for overtime

G&H is a world leader in optical designing, testing and manufacturing. As experts in the technology of light, G&H works with customers to provide optical systems, assemblies, and components for demanding applications. We have several vacancies on our site in various manufacturing areas; as a member of the Coating team you will be responsible for thin-film optical coating, working on custom-built machinery in a clean room environment.

Main responsibilities of the role include;

To set up machinery, processes and equipment to enable the safe coating of optics, working alongside other departments from the beginning to end of the production process

To follow written procedures to ensure the best methods and equipment are used at any given time

Take responsibility of department/cell quality, output, safety and improvement targets

Clean production equipment and work areas

Inspect and clean optics to required specification

Follow the MRB process for non-conforming parts

Ensure history card and other documentation is completed

Ideal candidates will have the following;

Experience of working in a thin film coating role would be advantageous, but we would like to hear from any candidates from a Quality Inspection / QA / QC / clean room background, ideally with experience of testing and inspecting work

GCSE or equivalent qualifications in English, Maths and Science (Grade C+)

Good levels of dexterity / manual handling / eyesight / happy to work using microscopes

Used to working to tight deadlines

Ability to follow instructions accurately

Good with problem solving and results orientated

Ability to work on own initiative

Flexibility and openness to working overtime when required

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and computer literacy
