Here at G&H Ilminster we research, develop and engineer optical elements used in aerospace and defence applications. We are currently recruiting for a Quality Inspector to ensure product quality by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products.
Main duties of the role include;
- Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual inspection and measurement tests; identifying and assisting with the storage and return of unacceptable materials
- Approve in-process production first off activities by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor/operator
- Conduct visual & automated inspection activities on part finished & finished goods
- Select output samples and check them using appropriate methods
- Document inspection results by completing reports and logs
- Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
- Update job knowledge by participating in training/educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
Ideal candidates will have the following;
- Good Metrology Skills (Use and Programming of CMM contact or non-contact, ability to correctly select and use metrology Hand tools such as Micrometres and Calipers)
- Awareness of working within ISO 9001, AS9100 & AS9102 Quality Environment
- Ability to work as part of a larger team or on own initiative
- Must be able to undertake and pass company eye test (aided or unaided)
- Attention to detail
