Here at G&H Torquay we manufacture a line of active and passive fiber optic components and modules offer the performance and reliability required for some of the most demanding and challenging applications in the world. Our designs have been qualified and deployed in space applications and are widely used in terrestrial and submarine telecommunications systems. As Quality Manager you would be a member of the site leadership team, taking responsibility for managing the Business Management System across the site whilst ensuring that processes and manufactured products fully comply with and exceed demanding regulatory/customer expectations.
Responsibilities;
Overall responsibility for the Business Management Manual and associated procedures.
Continually evolve best working practices and procedures to deliver AS9100D excellence and certification.
Manages Quality customer interface to proactively assure requirements are understood and satisfied, including assisting in complaint resolution and root cause and corrective action determination.
Analyses organizational quality metrics and performs managerial reviews to evaluate results and recommend action plans to close gaps at an operational level.
Participates in, and may lead, the auditing of internal Business Management Systems including ownership of the schedule.
Leads and develops the Quality Assurance structure capable of supporting both the tactical and strategic business plans and initiatives. Whilst supporting the operational Quality Control team.
Ensures quality organisation support to the Global Supplier Quality team in the management of new and existing supply chains.
Identifies and drives improvement opportunities across multi-functional teams to continually improve the business performance measures.
Champion root cause analysis and preventative actions.
Actively support New Product Development activities.
Provide analysis and regular tracking of issues related to material non-conformance.
Supporting the NPD/NPI gate review activities.
Ideal candidates will have the following;
Familiarisation with AS9100 accredited management systems is essential.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience within a quality management role working in the aerospace and defence sector.
Experience with co-ordinating multi-functional teams in delivering business objectives/initiatives.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience of quality assurance and continuous improvement methods, approaches, and tools, including strategic management.
Demonstrated ability to drive results in Quality and continuous improvement areas.
Mature Customer focused approach handling issues with urgency.
Experience in implementing process improvements using structured problem-solving methodologies.
