Here at G&H Torquay we are currently recruiting for an RF Electronics Systems Design Engineer, this position will focus on the electronic design and development of new laser modules and systems with applications across the Industrial, Aerospace & Defence, and Bio-photonics market segments. You will be working with colleagues across the business including product management and business development to support new commercial opportunities as well as operations, supporting technology transfer to manufacture. This is an exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team including firmware, optical and mechanical engineers, which will drive and deliver sustained revenue growth.

Main duties of the role include;

Provide electronic and opto-electronic engineering from concept to manufacture and test, including circuit simulation, schematic design and PCB layout

Design analogue electronic sub-systems including: laser drivers, temperature control, sensor systems and monitor circuits

Design new and support existing Acousto-Optic RF driver amplifiers

Assist with requirements capture and specification definition, sensitivity analysis, reliability analysis as required

Prepare presentation material and reports to a high standard for all phases of the project

Support handover from design to production

Work with Business Development and Engineering teams to support new opportunities, generate solutions for customers and support the RMA process

Drive products from design, to prototyping up to environmental qualification following internal or customer-driven NPI

Ideal candidates will have the following;

•3+ years’ experience RF/analogue/digital mixed signal circuit design

•Good knowledge of Op-amp and RF driver circuit design & theory

•Schematic capture and layout (e.g. Altium / PADS)

•Knowledge of laboratory test equipment, RF, analogue and digital

•Adaptable in often rapid changing design requirements and customer needs

•Ability to work across multiple business units with strong communication skills and problem-solving initiatives

•Experience in firmware development preferable

•Experience in manufacturing environment essential

•Understanding of Telcordia, MIL and/or ECSS/ECSS qualification standards preferable
