We are looking for an Engineer to join our Design team in our Fremont facility, specializing in Acousto-Optics (AO) for A&D, Industrial and Life Sciences.

Reporting to the Sr. RF Engineer, you will work in our world-leading photonics design & development project Team that focuses on our broad portfolio of High Power RF Drivers and Modulators that are utilized in a diverse range of applications, including semiconductor laser manufacturing, sensing in Aerospace & Defense and microscopy in medical imaging.You will have the opportunity to shape the future of our business by working with pioneering companies in the US, Europe and Asia Pacific in order to fuel the company’s growth and turn new ideas into innovative product lines.

As part of the AO engineering group, you will be responsible for supporting our existing RF Driver portfolio, especially with automatic testing, field return failure / troubleshooting, configuration control management, production test issues, as well as assisting with the New Product Introduction Process (NPI) including Driver characterization.

Key Activities

  • Assist the engineering staff to perform production testing, troubleshooting, on RF Drivers, including managing obsolescence and EOL component issues, working with Contract Manufacturers.
  • Generate, maintain, and optimize manufacturing documentation, including assembly and test procedures, BOMs (Bill of Materials). Generate and track ECO's related to manufacturing of existing Driver products.
  • Review, resolve and escalate daily production and quality issues
  • Analyze RF Driver test results as related to design and build parameter, in support of existing and new products.
  • Provide hands on technical support to prototype & pilot production build activities
  • Generate and track the release of new product part numbers, BOMs and documentation through Product Life Management System
  • Provide operator training and process improvement
  • Implement "Lean" strategies when applicable

Skills & Experience

Essential

  1. BS Electrical Engineering
  2. 2-4 years of directly related work experience or equivalent training
  3. Direct experience with standard instruments such as oscilloscopes, RF power meters, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and related instruments
  4. Ability to read and understand mixed-signal electronic schematics
  5. Ability to adjust to multiple demands and shifting work priorities
  6. Excellent verbal, written communication skills

Desired

  • MS Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with design software such as Altium
  • RF and/or microwave engineering experience, including basic metrology, impedance matching theory, and transmission lines.
