G&H to Focus on Innovation, Reliability and Scalability in Medtech Design and Manufacturing at BiOS Expo 2025

Events

January 2025 – Ashford, United Kingdom

G&H (LON:GHH), the global end-to-end manufacturer for medical devices, in-vitro diagnostics, and laboratory instruments, returns as an exhibitor to BiOS Expo 2025 held between January 25 – 26, 2025, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California, United States. The medical technology provider will be showcasing an upgraded solutions portfolio which covers device manufacturing, microscopy, lasers, and polymer optics, among other medical applications. The range of functions supported by this year’s G&H medtech portfolio spans from imaging techniques to diagnosis methodologies and biophotonic uses.

Vertically Integrated Life Sciences Solutions

Emerging market needs in life sciences, such as fast-paced technological changes and overall product reliability, are determining a bigger focus on how solutions are being delivered. G&H’s approach to consolidating all major medtech manufacturing phases under one roof directly addresses the challenges caused by siloed legacy systems, which have disrupted the medtech production cycle since 2020. As such, the company is able to accommodate faster lead times, a higher product quality, larger volumes for deliverables, and better cost efficiency. From intricate consumable components to complex instrumentation, G&H will display its full-scope capability that ensures seamless integration of design, engineering, and production at the biomedical exhibition.

Fiber Optic Solutions for Optical Coherence Tomography

What sits at the heart of G&H’s unique vertically integrated approach are the available in-house manufacturing data and premium optical and photonics engineering expertise. The company champions a historical legacy of over 75 years of optics and photonics experience, giving it an unparalleled advantage in product design and innovation. One such example will be on display at booth #8533 – a fiber optics schematic for Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) applications. Over the past decade, these medtech solutions have rapidly evolved into essential tools for ophthalmology practices. The G&H OCT solution offering includes state-of-the-art Single Mode (SM) and Polarization-Maintaining (PM) broadband fused fiber components that increase the stability and accuracy of the image. A full diagram schematic will be on display at the G&H booth, to highlight each high-performing component of the OCT ecosystem.

Medical Device Design for In-Vitro Diagnostics

Another critical piece of medical equipment that will be part of the demonstration space is the groundbreaking point-of-care (POC) technology PsyrosTM, created in collaboration with Prolight Diagnostics AB. These small, portable instruments are used to perform in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) on blood samples, to be able to detect acute health events such as myocardial infarctions. The product demo will illustrate G&H’s meticulous, user-focused manufacturing approach in developing compliant medtech that save lives.

Injection Molded Polymer Optics for Medical Imaging

A final product line that G&H will showcase during BiOS Expo 2025 is our injection molded polymer capability. Injection molding (IM) is the most efficient mass production technology for manufacturing polymer optical components. The lightweight design and flexibility of these solutions make them ideal for enhanced medical imaging, allowing for easier integration and handling within complex medical devices. The automated production process enables G&H molding presses to handle part sizes from 2.5mm to 150mm, with a manufacturing capacity of 20 to 200 tons. That is how our facilities can routinely handle programs from thousands to millions of parts per year, without compromising on quality.

“The BiOS Expo is the perfect event to start the year with medtech and biophotonics manufacturers, as it sets the tone for productive conversations in this field,” says Bryan Bothwell, Executive Vice President of Life Sciences at G&H. “Our dual capability to combine high-volume injected molded consumables with bespoke instrument R&D and manufacturing is not something many competitors can offer. Our portfolio for BiOS Expo this year is designed to highlight this exact point to potential customers. At the event, the G&H team will actively engage in discussions about how to bring next generation technology to market – innovations that truly make a difference.”

G&H continues to lead in end-to-end, vertically integrated medtech development with our advanced life sciences portfolio. The company’s presence at the 2025 edition of BiOS Expo reflects G&H’s strong commitment to offering a comprehensive suite of solutions that strengthen the medical equipment manufacturing lifecycle, from conceptualization to post-market support.
