G&H St Asaph is our specialist Optical Systems Innovation Hub for the design and engineering of advanced vision and electro-optical systems. From periscopes, driver vision systems and commander and gunner sights to integrated sensors and ruggedized camera modules, the site combines multidisciplinary engineering, specialist development facilities and extensive testing capabilities to create reliable, manufacturable solutions for armored fighting vehicles and other demanding aerospace and defense applications.

G&H St Asaph builds on the expertise of Kent Periscopes, a specialist developer of periscopes and electro-optical sighting systems for armored fighting vehicles. Following G&H’s acquisition of the business in 2016, sighting-system manufacturing transferred to our Ilminster facility in 2021, while the engineering and design team remained in St Asaph.

Quality and design assurance are embedded throughout development at G&H St Asaph. The site operates within an AS/EN 9100 quality framework and uses a structured new product development process to manage requirements, technical risk, design maturity, verification and readiness for manufacture.
