This role is based at our UK Centre of Excellence for Life Sciences in Ashford, Kent.
Role Overview:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Assistant Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in ensuring ITL meets its financial budgets, forecasts, and strategic growth targets. The successful candidate will handle key financial processes, including accounts preparation, month-end reporting, and providing financial support to Manufacturing and R&D teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Financial Controller in delivering financial success for G&H | ITL
Ensure timely, complete, and accurate financial accounting and reporting for both UK and US operations
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare tax packs and manage RDEC submissions
Reconcile inter-company accounts and manage quarterly VAT declarations
Provide essential finance support for the R&D function
Conduct monthly sales and profitability analysis
Implement and maintain financial systems to meet customer-contracted reporting requirements
Collaborate with external auditors, ensuring smooth and efficient audits
Assist with Accounts Payable and Receivable tasks as needed
Ideal Candidate Profile:
AAT qualified or equivalent degree
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar financial role
Qualified or part-qualified in ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent
Strong proficiency in IT systems, particularly Excel
Experience with month-end closing processes
Strong communication skills, with the confidence to challenge existing processes
Problem-solving mindset and ability to take a dynamic approach
Good understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Knowledge of UK direct and indirect tax regulations
Familiarity with ERP systems and reporting tools
Ability to analyse and interpret financial data
