Full Time Permanent Position, Monday to Friday

Shift work after training (Double Days)

G&H is a world leader in optical designing, testing and manufacturing. As experts in the technology of light, G&H works with customers to provide optical systems, assemblies, and components for demanding applications. We have two vacancies in our Lenses department, where we manufacture custom lenses for imaging, focusing, collimation, and illumination purposes, using standard polishing and grinding techniques, as well as singlepoint diamond turning. Our product range includes spherical, semi-spherical, and aspheric lenses, including high-precision aspheric surfaces on optical glass produced using 5-axis grinding and polishing machines.

Main responsibilities of the role include;

To set up machinery, processes and equipment to enable the safe manufacture of optics throughout the production process

To follow written procedures to ensure the best methods and equipment are used at any given time

Take responsibility of department/cell quality, output, safety and improvement targets

Clean production equipment and work areas

Inspect and clean optics to required specification

Follow the MRB process for non-conforming parts

Ensure history card and other documentation is completed

Ideal candidates will have the following;

CNC experience, preferably turning or 3/5 axis with some programming knowledge

GCSE or equivalent qualifications in English, Maths and Science (Grade C+)

Used to working to tight deadlines

Ability to follow instructions accurately

Good with problem solving and results orientated

Ability to work on own initiative

Good manual handling skills

Flexibility and openness to working overtime when required

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and computer literacy
