Product description

The AOMO 80Mz GE 2.8um provides controlled modulation for Mid-IR laser systems where efficient beam transmission, stable switching and compact system integration are required. Its Germanium AO medium supports infrared beam interaction, making it suitable for specialist laser platforms operating beyond visible and near-infrared wavelengths.

This modulator is well suited to compact Mid-IR optical layouts where low insertion loss, high contrast switching and practical beam separation are important for system design. Conduction cooling through the base supports a simpler thermal integration approach than water-cooled variants, while the SMA RF connection supports compact electrical integration in optical test platforms, sensing systems, laboratory photonics and OEM instrumentation.

  • Example AR Coating Curve (Guidance only)

AR coating curve chart titled “Ge AR @ 2.9 µm,” showing percent reflectance plotted against wavelength from 2.0 to 4.0 microns. The single red curve forms a pronounced U-shape, falling steeply from above 5% at shorter wavelengths to a minimum near 2.9 microns at about 0.09% reflectance, then rising sharply again toward longer wavelengths. A note box highlights maximum reflectance of 0.18% across 2.8–3.0 µm and 0.09% at 2.9 µm, indicating optimum antireflection performance at the design wavelength.
