Patterned Dichroic Reticles
The G&H patterned dichroic reticle is the most unique and has increasing importance in optical systems that blend human and electronic vision, sensing and targeting.
Full Product DescriptionProduct description
Dichroic reticles are advanced optical components that use interference-based thin-film coatings to create highly selective, wavelength-dependent patterns. Unlike standard chrome or etched reticles, dichroic reticles appear transparent at certain wavelengths and reflective or colored at others, enabling unique applications in multi-spectral imaging, beam splitting, and laser alignment.
The patterns—such as crosshairs, dots, grids, or custom geometries—are fabricated on glass substrates using dielectric multilayer coatings, precisely deposited via sputtering or ion-assisted deposition. These coatings ensure exceptional durability, optical flatness, and spectral control with minimal absorption.
Applications
- Tank fire control systems (FCS) - Secondary gunners' sights / ITAS/IBAS acquisition systems
- Field orientation (aiming circles)
- Collimators and telescopes
- Surveying and triangulation equipment
- Medical and scientific instruments requiring reticle-based measurement
Key features
- Precise aiming and ranging
- Microlithographic accuracy for superior image clarity
- Field proven reliability in demanding environments
- High Durability: Resistant to heat, humidity, and laser energy due to robust dielectric layers
