Medical Device Development
G&H | ITL's multidisciplinary team combines design knowledge, engineering expertise, and problem-solving skills to create innovative design concepts.
Endomag is on a mission to improve the standard of cancer care for everyone, everywhere, by providing more accurate, convenient, and less-invasive solutions for diagnosis and treatment. The Sentimag® localisation system, Magseed® markers, and Magtrace® lymphatic tracer enable physicians to carry out tumor localisation and breast cancer staging with one platform.
By adding greater flexibility and precision and removing the need for both wires and radioactivity, the platform is revolutionizing breast cancer care. It has been used in over 225,000+ procedures across 700+ hospitals in 45+ countries.
At the start of the project, Endomag was a small, UK-based start-up spun out from University College London (UCL) and University of Houston, Texas. They had developed an initial concept which, whilst highly sensitive, required the use of liquid nitrogen and a superconducting quantum interface device (SQUID). G&H | ITL was tasked with transforming the proof of principle prototype into a commercially viable, production-ready, benchtop medical device.
We forged a strong relationship with Endomag throughout R&D and the early stages of manufacturing. From prototyping to full-scale manufacturing, here’s how we supported the development of their medical device:
We continue to support Endomag with the ongoing development of the Sentimag® platform and remain their trusted contract manufacturer as production volumes increase.
Eric Mayes, CEO, Endomag, commented, “G&H | ITL helped develop our first medical device in a collaborative R&D project. That product is now in the market, and sales are growing, and we have found G&H | ITL to be capable of supporting our growth every step of the way. We are not (yet) their largest customer, but G&H | ITL’s dedication to Endomag is as if they are part of our team.”
