Ruggedized SWIR Optics Take Center Stage for G&H at SPIE DCS 2025
G&H (LON:GHH), a global leader in advanced photonics and optical solutions, will exhibit at SPIE Defense + Commercial Sensing (DCS) from April 15–17, 2025, at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. Visit Booth #811 to explore G&H’s latest shortwave infrared (SWIR) continuous zoom lens innovations for aerospace and defense.
“We’re excited to return to DCS to spotlight our advanced SWIR capabilities,” said Jacob Oh, Business Development Director of Optical Systems at G&H. “This year’s showcase highlights our purpose-built FireAnt lens series and ruggedized G&H | Stingray systems, engineered to deliver mission-critical performance in the harshest environments.”
Lens Systems Designed for Harsh Environments
At the event, G&H will showcase its FireAnt SWIR continuous zoom lens assembly—designed with a constant F/5.6 aperture through zoom, achromatic correction, and ruggedized housing for land, air, and maritime applications. Optimized for 0.9–1.7 µm and supporting up to 16.4 mm HD image formats, the FireAnt 40–400 mm system delivers superior resolution, transmission, and focus stability without the vignetting typical of visible-recoat SWIR approximations.
Visitors can experience G&H’s full portfolio of SWIR lens solutions, including:
FireAnt Series – Ruggedized continuous zoom lenses (40–400 mm and 80–800 mm) with constant F/5.6 aperture, no vignetting, and achromatic correction. Each lens is ruggedized for defense applications and ships with the StingWare™ controller for active athermalization and precise feedback.
Fuschia Series – Fixed SWIR lenses supporting 0.9–1.7 µm, available in a wide range of focal lengths and mechanical styles to suit both lab and field environments.
GhostSight Series – Achromatically corrected VisSWIR lenses (0.45–1.7 µm), ideal for multispectral imaging and inspection applications.
Beyond the hardware, G&H’s strength lies in its full-lifecycle capabilities—from optical and optomechanical design to environmental modeling and cleanroom assembly. In-house finite element analysis (FEA), interferometric testing, and thermal chamber qualification ensure that every lens is engineered for performance and built to endure.
