Product description
G&H Beta Barium Borate (β-BBO) crystals are high-performance nonlinear optical materials known for their broad transparency range (190–3000 nm), high damage threshold, and wide phase-matching capabilities. Ideal for frequency conversion processes such as second and third, harmonic generation (SHG, THG), sum and difference frequency generation, and optical parametric generation, β-BBO is widely used in ultrafast lasers, solid-state lasers, tunable light sources, and scientific research.
Its low birefringent walk-off and high nonlinear coefficient make it a preferred choice for precise and efficient wavelength conversion. G&H provides β-BBO crystals with high optical quality and customizable phase-matching orientations for optimal performance in demanding laser systems.
BBO (beta barium borate) crystals are used for both nonlinear and electro-optic applications, from the near infrared to the deep ultraviolet. BBO is well suited for use in Pockels cells for both standard and large Q-switches that control energetic, short light pulses from high-power UV laser systems. Market applications of BBO crystals include manufacturing processes such as disk-mastering.
