Product description

G&H’s Polarisation Diverse Receiver (PDR), engineered for precision and reliability, the PDR features dual optical inputs (R and S) to support polarisation diversity, improving signal integrity in demanding environments. Mixing an incoming signal with a reference (local oscillator), thereby shifting any phase and amplitude fluctuations on the optical carrier to a carrier at an electronic frequency. The S and P states of polarisation of the mixed signal are analysed with a pair of balanced detectors. The G&H PDR is housed in a compact, hermetically sealed, package with direct electrical connections to its four photodiodes.

3dB signal amplitude splitting of the reference and sample inputs is carried out by the NPBS (non-polarising beamsplitter) followed by polarisation state splitting by the PBSs (polarising beamsplitters). The resulting four channels(S+, S-, P+ and P-) allow polarisation diverse detection with common mode rejection.
