A close-up image of a gold-colored G&H PDR (Polarization Diverse Receiver) module with serial number. The device is placed on a blue surface and has two fiber optic cables connected to labeled ports “R” and “S.” The housing is rectangular with a smooth metallic finish and a mounting tab with a screw hole is visible on the lower right.

Polarization Diverse Receiver (PDR)

Our standard PDR variants cover 1060, 1310 and 1550nm wavelength ranges and are designed to support a broad range of potential applications.

Product description

The S and P states of polarization of the mixed-signal are analyzed with a pair of balanced detectors. Our PDR is housed in a compact, hermetically sealed, package with direct electrical connections to its four photodiodes.

A sample and reference signals are first split by a non-polarizing beam-splitter, followed by polarization state splitting by a polarizing beam-splitter. The resulting four channels (S+, S-, P+, and P-) allow polarization diverse detection with common-mode rejection.
