Product description

G&H Germanium plano-convex (PCX) lenses are engineered for optimal performance in mid-wave and long-wave infrared (MWIR and LWIR) systems, covering the 2–14 µm spectral range. These lenses are manufactured from high-purity monocrystalline Germanium and are ideal for applications requiring strong beam convergence or collimation with minimal spherical aberration.

The plano-convex design—featuring one flat and one outwardly curved surface—enables effective focusing of collimated IR light or collimating divergent beams from point sources. Their high refractive index (~4.0 at 10.6 µm) allows for compact system designs, while broadband anti-reflective (BBAR) coatings or optional diamond-like carbon (DLC) coatings further enhance transmission and surface durability.

G&H PCX lenses are available in a variety of standard and custom diameters, focal lengths, and mount options, making them suitable for thermal cameras, IR laser systems, and defense-grade optical assemblies.
