Product description

G&H Germanium (Ge) rhomboid prisms are custom infrared optical components designed for beam steering, image displacement, and angular deviation in MWIR and LWIR systems (2–14 µm). The unique rhomboid geometry offers controlled lateral or angular beam translation, making them ideal for compact infrared imaging and laser systems where space constraints and precise optical path control are critical.

Manufactured from high-purity monocrystalline Germanium, these prisms offer excellent IR transmission, a high refractive index (~4.0 at 10.6 µm), and superior thermal and chemical stability. The internal reflection geometry of the rhomboid form provides design flexibility for altering beam paths without requiring additional folding optics.

Available with anti-reflective (AR) coatings for enhanced transmission or reflective/dichroic coatings for beam manipulation, Germanium rhomboid prisms are built for rugged operation in harsh environments, including aerospace and military platforms.
