Product description
We offer both cube and plate beamsplitters that are engineered for precise beam splitting and optimal performance.
Cube beamsplitters can split the incident beam based on polarization or power ratio, and are mechanically durable and easy to mount, without any ghost beams. Our cube beamsplitters can be provided in cemented, optically contacted, or air-spaced forms, depending on your needs.
If you need higher beam power handling capability, our plate beamsplitters are the way to go. They exhibit intrinsic advantages over cube beamsplitters, making them ideal for high-energy laser applications or where size and weight limits are a concern. While plate beamsplitters generate a beam offset dependent upon the thickness of the substrate, our anti-reflection coating on the exit surface can minimize ghost beams.
We design and manufacture our beamsplitters, by hand, in the United Kingdom.
Selection of the appropriate beamsplitter design is dependent upon several factors:
- Polarizing or non-polarizing
- Non-polarizing beam ratio (examples: 50-50, 70-30, 90-10)
- Wavelength separation
- Power handling (high power or high incident laser energy)
- Ghost reflection tolerance
- Beam displacement tolerance
- Cube or plate
Coatings
From high transmission broadband anti-reflection coatings to V-coats for high energy applications, our extensive coating capabilities for precision optical components deliver performance across the spectrum from the UV to the FIR.
Metrology
We have made a significant investment in metrology equipment to ensure that our customers receive quality, high-performing precision optical components.
- Essent PhotonRT; dual beam dispersive with variable angle and polarization
- Perkin Elmer 983G; IR dual beam dispersive, near normal AOI only
- Perkin Elmer Frontier Optica; FTIR designed for IR optics industry
Environmental Testing
Environmental testing of components and coatings is critical for the assurance of performance in rugged conditions. G&H environmental testing capabilities include MIL-C-675C, MIL-C-48497A, MIL-E-12397, and MIL-M-13508C for endurance against abrasion, adhesion, humidity, temperature, and environmental conditions.
