Cadmium Sulfide Crystals (CdS)
G&H Cadmium Sulfide (CdS) crystals deliver high acousto-optic efficiency and fast response times, ideal for visible to near-infrared laser modulation applications.
Full Product DescriptionProduct description
Cadmium Sulfide (CdS) is a II–VI semiconductor with wide applicability in mid-infrared optical systems. With excellent birefringence, transparency in the IR, and a higher bandgap than CdSe, CdS is ideal for broadband achromatic waveplates and IR optical assemblies which have many applications, including aerospace and defense (A&D), astronomy, biomedical, remote sensing, and surveillance.
G&H produces high-purity CdS crystals in-house, offering excellent quality for demanding polarization control and photonic integration.
Crystal boules also available, we cultivate and offer structurally flawless large boules devoid of defects, striations, or inclusions. Our boules boast an exceptionally low dislocation density, with sections entirely free of dislocations. With our oversized boules, we're capable of crafting exceptionally large optical elements.
